- Hideaki Ito was born in 1975 in Gifu, Japan. His father was an official in the Japan Self Defense Force and his mother is a housewife. As a child, he became very sick and was hospitalized for about three years. During this time he said that he wanted to become a pilot because he felt isolated in his hospital bed and wanted to see the world. He originally had no intention of becoming an actor, but when he turned eighteen his friend's sister helped him submit an application to a talent competition for young male actors. He came in second place and was signed on to his first talent agency, marking the beginning of his successful career in acting. Hideaki Ito is most famous for his leading role in "Umizaru", a TV and movie series adapted from a popular manga comic about the lives of rescue diver trainees in Kure, Japan. The series began in 2004 and continued for ten years, finishing in 2014. Each of the Umizaru films ranked in the top 100 highest-grossing films in Japan, including both Japanese and Western films. During this time and since then, Hideaki Ito has been involved in over 50 films and drama series. Notably, he starred in the 2007 film "Sukiyaki Western Django" in which he acted alongside Quentin Tarantino. The film was entered in the 64th Venice Film Festival. In 2015, he won the award for the Best Supporting Actor in the Japan Academy Film Prize for his role in "Wood Job!". Today, Hideaki Ito is an international household name in many Asian countries including Japan, China, Thailand, and beyond.

Airi was born in Gifu to 2 golf players on April 12, 1994 but grew up in Chiba. She first came to people's attention as 1 of the members in the Hello! Project Kids pop group, the lead vocalist of the band's off-shoot idol girl group C-ute, as a member of Aa! & as member of another follow-up group, Buono!. Upon the dissolution of those bands, she launched a solo career. She had joined Hello! Project in 2002 & appeared in the film Mini Moni Ja Movie: Okashi Na Daibooken! During this period, she was more or less a regular on Japanese TV, issued a dozen photo books & even sketched a manga. C-ute was chosen as the Best New Artist Award at the Japan Record Award in 2008. After his graduation in 1911 he joined the public theater group of Kawai Takeo and began to perform on stage.
Iwata made his film debut at the time of the founding of Shochiku Kamata under his real name, appearing in the 1920 production Shinsei (New Life), directed by Henry Kotani. After appearing in Onna no Chikara, he played his first leading role in 1921 in Akuma no Gake. He then went on to costar with Kurishima Sumiko in the Henry Kotani directed Gubijinso (Field Poppies), also appearing with her in the satirical Shinpa films Kureyuku Ekiji, Hototogisu (The Cuckoo), Chiyodai, and Sofuren.
Iwata later appeared in Shuchu Nikki (Diary of a Drunkard), directed by Kako Zanmu, and in Sendo Kouta (Ballad of a Boatman), a film that was a nationwide hit along with its theme-song, and in Minamo no Hana. After this he starred-in many films such as Eiji Goroshi (Infanticide), Umi wa Warau (The Smiling Sea), Hototogisu Roshi and Nogi Taisho, before moving into supporting roles.
